In line with ACReSAL’s efforts to strengthen the line ministries to effectively discharge their responsibilities towards the implementation of ACReSAL’s Project Development Objectives (PDO), 8no. Toyota Hilux vehicles were procured and distributed to the 3line Ministries namely: Environment, Agriculture and Water Resources.
In a light key handing-over ceremony the Hon. Commissioner of Environment and Chairman State Steering Committee of ACReSAL in the state Engr. Moh’d Emet Kois reemphasized the essence of Institutional Strengthening which will go a long way in discharging duties efficiently. As Project vehicles are now available with each line Ministry, this will eliminate delays in sourcing Data and other unnecessary delays in getting inputs.
Presenting the keys at the ACReSAL office, the Commissioner Engr. Emet Kois said that these three key Ministries activities to a larger extent are to address problems of climate change and land degradation that affect our livelihoods and the environment.
He therefore charged them to utilize the vehicles judiciously and for the purpose intended.
The project Coordinator of Borno ACReSAL Mr Ayuba Peter Shua thanked the Governor of Borno state Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum and the world Bank for giving top most priority in tackling environmental challenges bedevilling the state and tasked the core ministries to maintain the vehicles.
