In an effort to enhance the Capacity of Borno ACReSALs staff and its partners to improve on Conflict Transformation skills, the Borno State Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (BO-ACReSAL) has organised a one-day Step-Down training to its SPMU and its associates. In his opening remarks, the Project Coordinator of Borno ACReSAL, Mr Ayuba Peter Shua said the Step-Down training became necessary having acquired the knowledge from attending the trainings in Bauchi, Abuja and Adamawa organised by Search for Common Ground Nigeria. Hethen urged the participants to reflect on its benefits to us and our state and to also act as ambassadors of peace. He further encouraged the SPMU staff to take advantage during the training and pay attention to all the important points that will be highlighted, adding that such training has come at the right time when minor and major conflicts are expected to be encountered during Community Revolving Fund (CRF) implementation and management which is about to kick off soon. The Step-Down training was conducted by the trained officers of the SPMU Ali Hussaini the ICT/MIS and Hajja Ya Fati Mustapha the Livelihood, officer. There was also an interactive sessions where participants brainstormed on real life situations and practical demonstrations of conflict resolution processes. The topics of the training included Conflict and Violence, Conflict Mediation process, Conflict Ripeness, Early Warning Communications, and Early Response and Action. The training was also attended by our FoNGO Consultant, Alh. Dr. Ngare Dogo with 5 members of his staff and all the members of the office Private Security Guards. At the end of the Step-Down training, the Project Coordinator, Mr Ayuba Peter Shua thanked all the participants for their patience during this lengthy but participatory engagement. He also thanked and commended the facilitators of the training who have done very well. He finally wished everyone a safe journey back to their various destinations. The meeting which started by 9:00 a.m. ended by 4:50 p.m. with prayers from Proj. Engr. Babagana Ladan.
