Katsina SLO visits Borno ACReSAL to Facilitate RAP implementation for Ngamdu and Uba Flood and Erosion control sites.

In a bid to ensure smooth implementation of Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) for Ngamdu and Uba Flood and Erosion control sites, the Social and Livelihood officer (SLO), Hajiya Aisha Mohammed Yusuf of Katsina ACReSAL represented the FPMU to facilitate the implementation of RAP for the two sites of Borno Agro-Climatic Resilience in semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) in Ngamdu and Uba sites respectively.

Speaking during the first day of the training the Project Coordinator Mr. Peter Ayuba welcomed Hajia Aisha Yusuf from Katsina ACReSAL and also Khadija Abdul Wahab from Bauchi ACReSAL who also came for the training.

He assured the facilitator that she will receive the full cooperation of all staff in order to make the activities as smooth as possible.

After taking the stage, the facilitator went through the rudiments of the activities of RAP implementation and made sure the SPMU staff understood her well before moving to the site the next day.

After her brief lecture, the facilitator asked whether there were areas of misunderstanding to be cleared. The SPMU staff were all satisfied before the meeting was closed for the first day.

On the second day the team arrived at Ngamdu Central Primary School and met with all the Project Affected Persons (PAPs). After the opening prayers and introductions by all concern, the facilitator Hajiya Aisha from Katsina ACReSAL welcomed the PAPs and told them that the delegation were in Ngamdu purposely for their concern and welfare. She made them to understand that non of them would have wished to let go his/ her affected property but they are doing so out of sacrifice for the greater benefit of the community.

She commended them
for their sacrifice and further adviced them to utilize the amount they will receive wisely. After her brief lecture, the facilitator enquired if the PAPs have questions. Hajiya Aisha Yusuf was able to answer their problem areas and the implementation exercise thereafter started.

The facilitator who is also the Katsina ACReSAL SLO arranged the exercises to include seven different units as follows: i) Registration ii) Verification iii) Documentation iv) SLO v) Community leader & Focal NGO v) Accounts department and vii) GRC.
