Maiduguri, Nigeria – The World Bank team for Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) project has officially arrived at Maiduguri International Airport for Mission

Upon arrival, the team was warmly received by Mr. Ayuba Peter Shua, the Project Coordinator of the Borno ACReSAL, and Sani Alhaji Mohammed,the Project Coordinator for Yobe ACReSAL. The reception underscores the importance of collaboration between the World Bank and local stakeholders in advancing climate resilience and enhancing sustainable agricultural practices in the region.

The Mission that will take place in Yobe and Borno aims to address the impacts of climate change on agriculture and livelihoods, particularly in the northeastern states of Nigeria, which have faced significant challenges in recent years. The project focuses on implementing strategies and practices that will enable communities to adapt to climate variations and improve their overall resilience.

During their stay, the World Bank team is expected to hold strategic meetings, conduct site visits, and engage with local communities to assess the progress of ongoing initiatives and explore further opportunities for collaboration.
