The FAO team led by FAO Focal Person ACReSAL, Engineer Precious Agbesor arrived Borno State for a five days working visit to have on the spot assessment of the project across three (3) local government areas of the State namely Jere, Mafa and Bama.
According to Engineer Precious Agbesor the initiative is to agricultural activities in Borno State via restoration degraded lands to enable farmers cultivate it.
FAO team, led by FAO Focal Person ACReSAL Engineer paid a courtesy call to the FAO’s Nigeria Northeast sub-office, where they emphasized the importance of evaluating progress in the region, particularly regarding the deployment of dalfino technology, which focuses on land restoration efforts.

Engineer Agbesor highlighted FAO’s significant achievements in land restoration initiatives which was also component B of the ACReSSL and outlined plans for engagement with local communities through visits to various local government areas.
FAO Desk Officer ACReSAL Borno, Bukar Modu Goba acknowledged the support provided for Borno ACReSAL State Project Management Unit (SPMU) especially the training which grately facilitated Borno ACReSAl activities.
He expressed appreciation for the FAO’s unwavering commitment to enhancing land restoration efforts in Borno State.
Head of the FAO Northeast sub-office, Alhassan Cisse reiterated the FAO’s mission in Borno, which is centered around supporting food production and restoring degraded land.
He explained that the mission is critical for improving the region’s resilience against climate impacts and boosting food security.
The collaboration between FAO and Borno ACReSAL is a significant step toward promoting sustainable agricultural practices and environmental restoration in the region, providing essential support to local communities in their pursuit of climate resilience.
